January 27th, 2012

Wrinkles occur because the collagen and elastin, the structural components of skin, slowly break down over time. Around the age of 35, there is a drastic shift in the amount of these components in the skin, causing it to lose its suppleness and become more wrinkled. This, however, is not the only factor the affects how prone your skin is to wrinkles. All of these factors can lead to skin either wrinkling at a young age or staying smooth and wrinkle free into your 30′s and beyond.
